Synopsis

A missing mother. An opinionated dragon. A key that changes everything. Sawyer Bibins just wants answers. His mother disappeared weeks ago, and every night her voice haunts his dreams. But when a dying stranger presses a strange key into his hand--claiming Sawyer's mother is the Keeper--his search for the truth takes a dangerous turn. Soon, Sawyer finds himself hunted by men with glowing blue eyes and drawn into a mystery bigger than anything he's faced before. And then there's Ruu: a sharp-tongued, sarcastic dragon who insists they're linked together whether Sawyer likes it or not. With Illusia's future at stake, Sawyer must find the courage to face enemies he doesn't understand, powers he never wanted, and a destiny that feels far too heavy for one boy to carry. At least he won't have to face it alone--although his dragon companion might drive him crazy first. The Dragon Key is book four of The Illusia Chronicles, a middle-grade fantasy adventure filled with friendship, danger, and one unforgettable dragon.
