Synopsis

Duncan Edge has wanted to become head of the Wizard Council for a long time. Now that his nomination is assured, all he needs to do is be the first to pass two dangerous tests. The one person who can destroy Duncan's cool is fellow wizard Serena Campbell, who unexpectedly becomes another contender for the head wizard position. With a serial-killer wizard on the loose and the upcoming tests, Duncan can't afford any distractions -- so he's not about to let the ancient Edge family curse on love get in his way. But you know what often happens to best-laid plans.
