Synopsis
Corvus, Mama and their small stalwart team race to try to gain the top of the Tor before the moment of transference. The enemy's forces, led by the Angor Shaman, Sangine and Vajk, the Grand Hadvezér of the Barbárs, bring fell sorcery and the savage blades of the giant-like Räubers to stop them. Meanwhile, Corvus' son, Cailean, is charged with slowing the advance of the Barbár invasion along the road to Esper while Queen Darienne faces the daunting task of a two-front war for Lachland - fighting both the Barbárs in the east and now the Sudlandese in the south. All the while, the enigmatic Fool, Latrans, meets one by one with a strange assortment of individuals in impossibly distant locales. The dark stirs and the tendrils of Fel's influence awaken long-sleeping malice. The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Corvus and company sacrifice and fight to place a child on the seat of the Guardian of the Tor. A child with mismatched eyes and a sense of destiny.
