This is the third in a series of nine novels based on the television series "Get Smart". This book tells the story of Maxwell Smart, as he begins a new mission to help protect a female cryptographer {secret code breaker} named Peaches Twelvetrees, as she tries to solve the Dooms Day Plan code, of KAOS. It is explained early on, that Max's partner Agent 99, is going on vacation and will not be able to help him in this adventure. However she does appear again at the end of the book. While Max and Peaches try to crack the code, they are pursued by the KAOS agent named I.M. Noman, whom can easily change his appearance, because of his Indian rubber face.
