New York City, 1948: Two sisters visit the Metropolitan Museum where they discover a mysterious painting. Hidden portals appear and transport them to another dimension where it is revealed they are the queen and princess of a land under an evil spell of perpetual darkness. They encounter a wicked shapeshifter, a misunderstood dragon, a wise mole and a reluctant prince. Will they break the spell and restore their kingdom? Or will they be pulled home by the power of their father's love? Katherine Ambrosio is a graduate of Webster University's Theatre Arts Conservatory. An award-winning playwright and author of numerous full-length and short plays. THE LIGHT BEARERS is her second novel, her first being THE HOUSE ON SUTHERLAND AVENUE, a story set in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. She now lives in upstate New York with her husband, Ralph.
