Synopsis

"When Peter, an eighteen-year-old farmer, and his older brother, Harold, discover a dragon egg abandoned in the snow, they make the most foolish--and kindest--decision of their lives. They take the egg home. Knowing that keeping such a dangerous creature could get them into trouble, especially when their king has declared a war against all dragons, the brothers swear themselves to secrecy. But secrets have a way of being discovered, and when the knowledge of the dragon the brothers are harboring escapes, Peter and Harold are forced out of the only life they know and love. With their newly hatched dragon in tow, the brothers head into a world that is larger than they ever imagined, filled with perils they thought only existed in fairy tales and strange friends who whisper strange things.
