Synopsis

Can Alaric and Zarah stop the plague? Alaric is a survivor, an orphan with no family, no last name, and no future in the cutthroat city of Port Theron. He dreams of escaping to the university, but he'll never save enough money. Now a plague is spreading, moving fast toward Port Theron, threatening to destroy what little he has. Then two professors arrive, guided by Zarah, whose visions show hope for a cure. The mysterious World Flower guides her on, into life or death or both. This is Alaric's chance. If he's brave enough to find a ship and sail into magic, madness, and danger, he may just save the world and himself. He and Zarah must join the crew of the Scarlet Gray and sail deep within the Shrouded Sea, where few go, and none return. There, they'll face mystery, magic, madness, and their own deepest fears. But the impenetrable mists, massive tree towers, and cruel thorn-men may be the least of their worries. Is the crew really after the cure, or will they betray Alaric and Zarah for a chance at a legendary treasure? The Shrouded Sea is a Young Adult fantasy novel (appropriate for tweens and young teens) filled with wonder, kinetic adventure, personal struggles, and vivid scenes full of sensory details. Can Alaric and Zarah survive the Shrouded Sea?
