Synopsis

Before Lia took up the bow, Jon Hunter guarded the ancient walls of Muirwood Abbey. When his mentor, the gruff Martin Evnissyen, unexpectedly departs for a war-torn Pry-Ree, an eighteen-year-old wretched named Jon is thrust into a heavy burden of responsibility. As the new abbey Hunter, he must patrol the treacherous marshes of the Bearden Muir and ensure no outsiders disturb the sanctuary of the majestic abbey or its grounds. But a band of ruthless looters is closing in, seeking the Abbey’s precious treasures. Jon must rely on every trick Martin taught him—patience, woodlore, and a sharp gladius—to defend Muirwood’s secrets. Fans will witness the early days of favorite characters, including a glimpse of a young, mischievous girl named Lia. Discover the legacy of the man who served Muirwood and defended it at all costs.
