To protect her child, a goddess trades power for humanity. To save her village, she must fight the nightmare that birthed her love. Tyche, goddess of Fortune, is a fugitive. Her crime? Motherhood. To protect her child from Zeus' harsh ruling, she hides among mortals in the village of Pikerni. As her powers fade, leaving her exposed and vulnerable to Olympus' judgment, her only consolation lies in the dreams of her lover, Ikelos, the god of Nightmares, whose comforting presence conceals a more sinister purpose. When Olympus' patience snaps, Tyche is forced to choose between her child and the mortals she has sworn to protect. Driven by a fierce, human love unfamiliar to the gods, she descends into the conflict, aided by Lep, the village healer, and a mysterious young girl whose power becomes a terrifying source of strength. But the price of Tyche's rebellion is more devastating than she imagined. After birthing a child of pure evil, she is swallowed by a horrifying illusion-a dream within a dream-spun by Ikelos to shatter her mind when he forces her to witness her beloved healer bound to a loop of endless agony and the villagers twisted into monstrous extensions of his nightmare. Trapped and powerless, Tyche must draw strength from her human love to ignite a final, desperate rebellion. For when a goddess embraces a mortal heart, even the gods fear what she becomes.
