Wanhowl is a prequel to Turtle Island, going back 1000 years. Chuptik is having trouble coming to terms with her role as the new Guardian of Turtle Isalnd. Brunius, the old Guardian of Turtle Island, tells her the story of how he became Guardian, with the help of his friends, Wanhowl the Bobcat and Shusan the Marmot. Together, they end a terrible drought and learned the true meaning of friendship.
