Synopsis
This exciting and humorous book is the first in a Young Adult Science Fiction series, "Chronicles of Mathias". Mathias has graduated high school from an Earth Colony in the far future. Before going to college, he decides to launch out on his own for awhile, to work his way around the galaxy - which he finds out belatedly is on the brink of another War of Conquest launched by the Reptilians. In this first volume, Mathias signs on as crew with Pinjour, a gruff Ursinith, ex-mercenary and now merchant of dubiously-acquired weapons and parts. When Mathias finds a valuable Data Drop in Pinjour's cargo hold, Pinjour catches him, and takes over the Data Drop. Suddenly the race is on, to get to Pinjour's Highest Bidder - on a planet that has already been secretly invaded by the Reptilians!
