Synopsis

Eleven-year-old Mikal must leave his blacksmith training when he is selected to study at the magicians' Guild of Constant Working, where his talent and help from a talking metal head, Orry, soon earn him an apprenticeship with Master Harlano, who stands alone against the other Masters.
