Synopsis
I’m still JD. I’m still tired. And I’m still trying to figure out how I went from drawing comics and making sure I had enough burgers and pints to being in charge of a fortress in a magical, monster-filled world. We’ve turned Fort Klana into something resembling a home, but in this world, that only means a bigger target on your back. The more you prosper, the bigger the monsters are that come for you. To keep our walls standing and the academy running, I had to take drastic measures. Or, as we say back on Earth: do something stupid. I had to expand my Soul Sea in the Mana Lake. But the stronger I become, the more the world seems to be unraveling. The "links" are straining, we are constantly under attack by Behemoth-class threats, and the internal politics among the survivors are getting uglier by the day. I didn't ask to be a leader or to be responsible for every soul in this city. But as long as I’m the one holding the pen-blade, I won't let anything happen to my girls or Klana.
